Why Life Groups?
Life Groups are not ‘the latest thing’ as they have been around since Jesus’ day and were His method for equipping, encouraging and empowering God’s people for their God-given purpose on earth. In order to have a clearer vision for Life Groups, we need to have a clear answer for the purpose [Our Why] behind Life Groups. Our purpose for Life Groups can be summed up in one word – Relationship.
Authentic relationship with God and with one another. One of the first things that Jesus ever did in His earthly ministry was to start a Life Group where He gathered 12 disciples, which became a great environment for teaching, asking questions, spiritual maturity and growth, so we also seek to model His method of making disciples and growing in our faith by starting and multiplying Life Groups across the world.
What are Life Groups?
Life Groups are smaller faith communities ranging from 3-12 people that gather throughout the week in locations such as Albury, Wodonga, Lavington, Thurgoona, Jindera and Online. Our Life Groups provide interactive Bible study, discussions, Q&A, prayer, food, support and opportunities to convert ‘knowing what the Bible says’, into, ‘doing what the Bible says’.
Who are Life Groups for?
In brief, anyone! We have a wide range of Life Groups catering for Years 5 & 6 Primary School; High School Youth – (Boys, Girls, Mixed and Leadership Groups); Young Adults; Men’s; Women’s; Mixed Couples and specialised Groups such as Marriage and Parenting Groups. Most Life Groups run on a fortnightly basis and gather in various environments such as homes, cafés, restaurants, clubs, parks and at our Gateway Life Church facility.
In order to grow in your understanding of the Bible, your Faith and God-given Assignment, we encourage all people to actively practice their ABCs… We have discovered over the years that people who actively exercise their ABCs with the motivation to “Love & Serve God by Loving & Serving People”, live fulfilled and enriched lives… We believe that it feels good to ‘Love & Serve’ others, so we encourage people to get out there today and feel good, since Jesus said in Acts 20:25 – “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.
